Former ISRO Chief Dr K Radhakrishnan will be chief guest at RSS Vijayadashmi Utsav

Former Chairman of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) Padma Bhushan Dr K Radhakrishnan will be the chief guest at the annual Shri Vijayadashmi Utsav of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) this year.
The Utsav will be held on October 12 at 7.40 am at Reshimbagh, Nagpur. Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat will deliver the annual keynote speech.
Among the six major festivals of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), there is a special place for the Vijayadashmi festival. In 1925 on the day of Vijayadashmi, the RSS came into being in Nagpur. Hence, the Foundation Day celebrations of the organisation are also celebrated simultaneously at the branches along with the Vijayadashmi festival.
During the event, Astra-Shastra Poojan is also performed.
Last year, popular singer and composer Padmashri Shankar Mahadevan was the chief guest at RSS’s annual Vijayadashami event.
