Four CRPF jawans injured in IED blast in Chhattisgarh

Four jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were injured when an improvised explosive devise (IED) planted by Maoists went off in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Tuesday.

The injured jawans were part of the troop from the 153rd battalion of the CRPF that was on an area domination operation. According to police sources, the IED planted by the Maoists exploded about 100 meters from the T-Point in the forested pocket.

The injured jawans, identified as Deputy Commandant Palawan Kumar Biswas, Assistant Sub Inspector Shiv Yadav, Head Constable Rajeev Ranjan and Constable Om Prakash, are undergoing medical treatment in the Bijapur district hospital. The doctors attending on them said their condition was stable.
