Four senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officials have been bestowed with responsibilities; almost 10 months after remaining without charge in the regime of the new BJP government in Chhattisgarh.
The 1997-batch IPS officer and Additional Director General of Police, Deepanshu Kabra has been given charge of scheduled caste and tribe cell besides training. The 2001-batch IPS officer, Anand Chabra will be Inspector General of Police (scheduled caste and tribe cell and training).
Besides, 2005-batch IPS officer Dhruv Gupta has been given charge of Inspector General of Police (CCTNS, SCRB). Similarly, Arvind Kujur will be Deputy Inspector General of Police, Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF). He belongs to 2010-batch of IPS.
The four officials were awaiting postings after the BJP government came to power in December 2023. They were posted at the police headquarters without any charge.
