A structural incident occurred at SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant in Durg district of Chhattisgarh where the gallery situated between Coke Oven Batteries No. 5 and 6 collapsed on Monday.
The incident took place on Monday morning, but, notably, no injuries were reported, the Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) management said in a statement. All personnel in the vicinity remained safe, it added.
The plant management acted swiftly to contain the situation at the affected gallery, and a dedicated team has been deployed to carry out the repair work at the earliest. Alternative arrangements were promptly implemented to ensure that production operations continue without any disruption, the company said.
