‘Godaan’ to be tax-free in Chhattisgarh

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday launched the trailer of the first film based on Gaumata- Cow, titled Godaan, at the Chief Minister’s Residence Office in the state capital Raipur.

On the occasion, CM Sai said the government is committed to the protection and promotion of Gaumata. He said Gaumata is not only spiritually revered but also holds immense economic and scientific significance. The Chief Minister announced that the film Godaan will be made tax-free in Chhattisgarh.

Speaking at the trailer launch, Sai said extensive work is being carried out in Chhattisgarh for cattle development. The grant provided for fodder for cows in gaushalas has been increased from Rs 20 to Rs 35, and financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh is now being given to gaushalas. He said the government is also establishing Godhams, where proper care of stray cattle is being ensured.

The Chief Minister said it is believed that Gomata is the abode of 33 crore deities. Panchgavya is used before every ritual. He expressed happiness that the trailer of the first film centred on Gaumata, Godaan, has been launched. Through this film, people will get an opportunity to better understand the importance of Gaumata. He congratulated everyone associated with the film.

The Chief Minister said there is a need to raise mass awareness about the importance of Gaumata. Organic manure made from cow dung forms the foundation of organic farming. Through the 2.90 hours long film, the message of cattle conservation will reach audiences. He said cinema is a powerful medium through which positive messages can be conveyed to a large audience.

The Chief Minister also launched the film’s poster and the song ‘Gau Mata ke pranon ko bacha lo deshvasiyon’. He also unveiled a gift pack of Panchgavya products. The film Godaan, produced by Kamdhenu Film Productions and portraying the significance of Gaumata, will be released in Indian cinemas on February 6.

Shri Ajit Mahapatra, Shri Shantanu Shukla, producer and director of this film Shri Vinod Chaudhary, Dr IP Singh, Shri Subodh Rathi, other dignitaries and media representatives were present on the occasion.
