National Golf Championship concludes in Nava Raipur, teams from 20 states participated

Chhattisgarh Finance Minister O P Choudhary said good infrastructure of golf games in Chhattisgarh would make the state recognized in the field of sports in the country and abroad.
“Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh is preparing a magnificent sports infrastructure and is continuously organizing national level games. Chhattisgarh has got a new identity in the field of sports by organizing golf championship along with traditional sports,” Choudhary asserted while participating in the prize distribution ceremony of Golf championship organised here under the aegis National Golf Federation of India.
The event was organised from October 24 to 26 in which teams from 20 states across the country participated.
Choudhary said people of Chhattisgarh were showing their talent in every region. They are being continuously encouraged by the government to develop their talent, he added. “The event will prove to be a milestone for increasing the prospects of golf in Chhattisgarh,” Choudhary said, adding that an area of 200 acres has been secured for golfing in Nava Raipur.
Rahul Bhagat, Secretary to the Chief Minister, NRDA CEO Saurabh Kumar along with retired army officers were present on the occasion.
President of National Golf Federation of India Jaxay Shah said that golf required patience and concentration. Asserting that the game needs to be promoted, he said golf had to be taken to villages of Chhattisgarh.
Aryaveer Arya, Founder and General Secretary of National Golf Federation, said that the enthusiasm proved that golf could be promoted in Chhattisgarh. The government has helped in organizing the Games. Players from 20 states of the country took part in this competition and made the name of Chhattisgarh bright in the game of golf.
Golf Federation of India (GFI) is committed to work towards Sports, Environment, Education, Health and Vision India 2047. By organizing the championship in Nava Raipur, a platform will be prepared to promote the golf courses of the upcoming Chhattisgarh capital at the national level, Arya added.
The Chhattisgarh Finance Minister later distributed the prizes. The first prize for the championship was Rs 10 lakh, voucher and trophy bagged by Punjab while Maharashtra stood runner-up with Rs 6 lakh, voucher and trophy. Among other winners, Sanju and M K Mohanty bagged iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro respectively.
