Pathankot , November 22
A low-intensity hand grenade was lobbed at an army camp in high security area of Pathankot on Sunday night.
The two motorcycle-borne men were involved in the incident; taking advantage of a marriage procession passing through the area. The border districts of Pathankot and Gurdaspur were put on a high alert after the incident. No casualties were reported as the blast took place outside the Triveni gate.
The attack occurred barely 500 yards from the outer wall of the high-security Air Force station. It is the same spot where on January 2, 2016, four Jaish-e-Mohammad militants had laid siege to the air base. All the terrorists were killed after 48-hour fierce gun battle with the security personnel.
Senior Superintendent of Police Surendra Lamba reached the spot soon after getting the information. A massive hunt has been launched across the border area. The ammunition dump at Mamun Cantt was also secured.
After the preliminary investigation, police officials said it was a terror attack.
