Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav said under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is treading the path of progress.
Talking to media person in Gandhi Nagar in the sidelines of 4th Global Renewable Energy Investors Meet and Expo, Dr Yadav said the Gujarat model developed under his guidance is exemplary for all states. Increasing energy and especially renewable energy capacity in the country as a campaign demonstrates the farsightedness of Prime Minister. Re-Invest 2024 in Gujrat symbolizes his vision.
Dr Yadav said that reducing carbon emissions and expanding activities in the fields of solar energy-wind energy, hydel power are the main points of discussion in this programme. Development is not possible without energy. In the current scenario, renewable energy is like icing on the cake and the efforts being made at the national level in this direction under the guidance and leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will help in making the country self-reliant in of energy.
He said that Prime Minister has set the target of producing 500 GW of renewable energy by the year 2030 through renewable energy, Madhya Pradesh will make every possible contribution in achieving this. Chief Minister Dr Yadav expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for his guidance in moving on the path of unprecedented development in the renewable energy sector in the Re-Invest 2024 programme.
The Chief Minister gave a presentation on the work being done in the field of clean and green energy in Madhya Pradesh at the 4th Global Renewable Energy Investors Meet and Expo. He said that Madhya Pradesh has the power to make the impossible possible. “We are determined to work with commitment to make the dreams of Prime Minister Shri Modi come true,” he said.
Addressing the session of Re-Invest 2024, Dr Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh has the power to make the impossible possible. In the year 2012, the state’s renewable energy capacity was less than 500 MW, but as a result of the formation of a separate department in the state and policies and various incentives, the state’s renewable energy capacity has increased more than 14 times in the last 12 years.
Today, renewable energy accounts for 21 percent of the state’s total energy capacity. Madhya Pradesh is also a leading state in innovation in the renewable energy sector. Under the Rewa Solar Project, large-scale solar power parks have been set up. For the first time in the country, solar energy has been made available cheaper than the energy produced by coal.
Delhi Metro is powered by Rewa Solar Plant and has been recognized as an exemplary project globally. The Rewa solar project is also taught as a case study at Harvard University. The country’s minimum tariff is Rs 2.14 per unit in Neemach Solar Park of Agar-Shajapur-Neemach Solar Project.
