Jerusalem, November 29
Hamas terrorists forced the children held in captivity to watch the videos of the atrocities they inflicted out inside Israel on October 7.
Around 1,200 Israelis were killed since 7 October, including 368 Israel Defence Forces (IDF) soldiers in the Hamas militants’ serial attack on Israel. About 250 people including kids and elderly women were taken hostages by the militants propelling Israel to conduct massive military operations in Gaza to eradicate Hamas.
Following international intervention, Israel and Hamas have agreed for a ceasefire in exchange of Israeli hostages’ release. In return, Palestine has demanded release of a few Hamas militant jailed in Israel.
The release of women and children have started even as ceasefire has been extended. The children released have narrated the nightmare faced in Hamas captivity.
One of the parents described the conditions that the children endured throughout their 52 days in Hamas captivity. “When they (hostages) arrived in Gaza, all of them were beaten up,” the mother of one of the child hostages said. If the children cried, they threatened them with rifles to shut them up, she added.
Yahalomi was taken hostage with his mother and two sisters. But they managed to escape and returned to Israel. The videos Yahalomi has said he was forced to watch were filmed by Hamas terrorists who documented their crimes in real-time. Some of the footage was captured on body cameras while other parts of it were filmed on the cellphones of both the terrorists and their victims and then streamed on social media.
The militants also forced the children to smile on camera, made videos and released in the social media propagating they took better care of kids during captivity.
