Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday refused to appear at Enforcement Directorate (ED) at Ranchi and asked the central agency to arrest him,
Addressing a massive rally outside his residence, JMM leader said, “I have not murdered anyone, did not commit any crime, why are you calling me for questioning, better arrest me.”
Hemant added, “You questioned Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, but you must remember Jharkhand is the home of Heroes, tribal warriors”.
The furious reaction from the Jharkhand Chief Minister was in response to a notice served on him to appear before the ED for questioning in connection with his alleged links with sand mafia.
JMM workers from different part of the state had come to attend the rally. Hemant said ED and BJP were scared, security in their offices at Ranchi have been beefed up. “Our workers are silent, they have not reacted so far,” he said.
Hemant asked JMM cadre to go to the villages and spread the message of ED and CBI harassing their leader. He issued an appeal to the tribal and scheduled caste voters of Gujarat to ensure defeat of BJP that was harassing a tribal chief minister of Jharkhand.
“Gujrat Mein Ek Bhi Adivasi Seat BJP Ko Na Jaye (not a single tribal seat should go to BJP),” Soren fumed and appealed to the tribals.
He alleged the BJP has entered into a conspiracy to destabilise the Jharkhand Government through ED and CBI and warned “Chhedoge to Chhodege nahi (if you disturb , we will not leave you).”
Hemant who was on aggressive mood, asked people to take the fight against misuse of central agencies to the streets. He will not appear before ED for the next 15 days as he released details of his engagements for a fortnight.
After addressing the rally, he left for Raipur to attend the international tribals cultural programme.
