Himanshu Jain takes over as SECL Chief Vigilance Officer

Himanshu Jain assumed the charge as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) at South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) on Friday.

He is a 2007 batch officer of the prestigious Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers and was earlier working as Senior Divisional Signal and Telecom Engineer in South East Central Railway Bilaspur.

Jain holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Raipur and a Master’s degree in Microelectronics and VLSI from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT Bombay).

He joined Indian Railway Service by clearing the prestigious Engineering Services Examination of UPSC in the year 2007. He started his career with Indian Railways and was posted in the leading freight loading zone – South East Central Railway. He has vast experience of working in Railways having worked in various capacities from field level to senior management in General Manager’s Secretariat in Bilaspur Division.

Apart from technical positions, Jain has also worked as Deputy General Manager in the office of General Manager of the zone as well as Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) and Secretary to General Manager in South East Central Railway. He has been awarded the prestigious ‘National Railway Award’ for outstanding service in the year 2016. He has also attended training programme on High Speed Railway Operations at JICA, Japan.
