Hira Group gets green nod to enhance capacity of iron ore pelletization plant in Chhattisgarh

Godarwari Power and Ispat Limited (GPIL), the flagship entity of Chhattisgarh-based Hira Group, has received the environment clearance for expansion of iron ore pelletization plant located in Chhattisgarh’s capital.

The development will facilitate the company to enhance the capacity from 2.7 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 4.7 MTPA.

“Pursuant to Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations 2015, we are pleased to inform you that Environment Clearance has been granted (vide Minutes of Meeting of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change held on 23rd to 25th January, 2024 published on 06.02.2024) for expansion of Iron Ore Pelletization Capacity of the Company from 2.7 MTPA to 4.7 MTPA capacity at Siltara Industrial Area, Raipur, Chhattisgarh,” GPIL said in a regulatory filing today.

The entire project cost of expansion shall be met out of internal accruals of the company and the commercial operation of the expansion program is expected to be commissioned in the first quarter of financial year 2025-26 (Q1 FY26), the company said.

GPIL is a fully integrated steel company that operates across the entire steel value chain. The Company’s operations span from iron ore extraction from two mines to the production of iron ore pellets and high-value steel products.
