Colossus, the highly anticipated annual event, concluded with an air of jubilation, fostering a sense of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and a promise to return next year for another round of competition, laurels, and cherished memories.
Over the course of three action-packed days, the festival dazzled attendees with an extensive array of literary, sports, and cultural activities. The festival’s dynamic atmosphere, enthusiastic participants, and exhilarating competitions reaffirmed its esteemed reputation.
Beyond the entertainment, the event featured a contemporary compelling debate on the topic of “Dividing Israel and Palestine as the Only Solution for Resolving Their Conflict.” This ignited passionate discussions and eloquent arguments. In the realm of sports, HNLU secured a victory in the men’s volleyball category, defeating IIM with a decisive 2-0 score, while Team Txm from Bastar University emerged as the champions in the BGMI event. The volleyball girls’ semi-finals saw HNLU triumph with another impressive 2-0 victory against AIIMS Raipur.
The evening came to life with electrifying musical performances by ‘Rahul Jain’ and DJ Swizel, with Rahul Jain captivating the audience with soulful renditions. The day was further enriched by cultural activities, including face painting, golgappa eating, and various engaging fun events.
The final day of the event began with an exciting Kabaddi final, where HNLU emerged victorious in the men’s category, and AIIMS claimed the top spot in women’s Kabaddi. HNLU’s Cricket Team secured the championship trophy after an exhilarating match against Kalinga University. In the basketball event, RCET Bhilai emerged as the triumphant team. HNLU continued their winning streak with another victory in the Volleyball Girls category, this time against Kalinga University.
The Valedictory and Prize Distribution ceremony was graced by the presence of Rajendra Prasad, a renowned athlete, Olympian, and Arjuna Awardee in Boxing, who served as the Chief Guest. At the start of the event -Shubham Jindal, the Secretary General of International Model United Nations Conference presented a comprehensive report of the event, which hosted more than 262 delegates from 12 states in 7 committees which was new record for the event. Student convenor of Colossus Vaibhav Malhotra, announced the grand scale of the event, with over 1000 participants competing in more than 54 events and a record-breaking prize pool of over Rs 3 lakhs
Prof. V C Vivekanandan, Vice Chancellor of HNLU in his inaugural remarks commended on the seamless professional organizational planning and execution of the student body of the event and proving Hospitality -HNLU way at its best. He went on to add that organizers to make the next edition of ‘COLOSSUS’ as an international event in the lines of HIMCC planned in 2024.
The Chief Guest, former Olympian and Arjuna Awardee, Rajendra Prasad, enthralled the audience in his inimitable style of personal anecdotes and urged the youngsters to maintain a healthy and sustainable routine, including waking up during the traditional Brahma-Muhurat.
The event had the Chief Guest, Vice chancellor, Registrar in charge -Dr Vipan Kumar, Deans Dr Deepak Srivastav, Dr AvinashSamal, Dr Kiran Kori, member of SCC and the faculty convenor of SCC Dr Ankit Singh distributing the prices to the winners of the various events.

The HNLU Annual Fest, Colossus, proved to be an exceptional platform for the convergence of literature, sports, and culture, offering vibrant debates, thrilling sports competitions, soul-stirring music, and a generous dose of fun and frolic, creating an unforgettable experience for all involved.
