Prof. (Dr.) V C Vivekanandan, Vice-Chancellor of Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), has been honoured with an Honorary Mention in the Forbes India Legal Powerlist 2022.
The citation is for his Exemplary work, Outstanding Performance and Dedication to the Profession. The Forbes India Legal Powerlist 2022, a collaborative effort between Forbes India and Legitquest, India’s leading Artificial Intelligence-based legal research, case alert, and litigation management tool, identifies and honours individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of law. This list serves as a testament to the achievements and influence of legal luminaries in India.
The Minister of State, Ministry of Law and Justice, Govt. of India, Arjun Ram Meghwal, presented the Honorary Mention to Prof. Dr. V C Vivekanandan during the Forbes India – CNBC Transformation Summit held on 23rd September 2023. The summit, organised in collaboration with Legitquest, brought together influential voices from the legal sector to discuss critical
issues facing the profession.
The distinguished Jury panel for the Forbes India Legal Powerlist 2022 included eminent figures in the legal fraternity, namely, Justice A K Sikri, Former Judge of Supreme Court of India and International Judge, Singapore International Commercial Court, Justice Madan B. Lokur, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India & International Judge, Supreme Court of Fiji, Adv. R Venkataramani, Learned Attorney General of India, Dr Menaka Guruswamy, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India and Rajshekhar Rao, Senior Advocate.
The event was graced by Mrs. Justice Hima Kohli, Judge, Supreme Court of India, Justice Sanjay Karol, Judge, Supreme Court of India, Adv. R. Venkataramani and Learned Attorney General of India. They addressed the gathering and distributed the awards.
Under Prof. (Dr.) V C Vivekanandan’s leadership role at HNLU was awarded the Business World’s Best Emerging Higher Institute of India Award 2023 and the Times Ascent Skill Development Leadership Award 2023 at the 31st World HRD Congress apart from being adjudged as 51/100 of the World’s Universities with Real Impact (WURI) of South Korea in 2021 and 2022. HNLU also was ranked fifth among the National Law Schools by the popular survey of India Today Ranking Magazine in 2021, 2022 & 2023.
