The state-of-the-art Hot Strip Mill-2 (HSM-2) of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has achieved the best ever annual production on 18th March, 2026 surpassing previous best annual production record of 25,51,444 tons coil weight achieved during FY 2024-25.
The milestone was achieved in the ‘B’ Shift on 18th March, 2026, i.e. 13 days before the close of the current fiscal. The Mill is also all set to create a new production benchmark in March, 2026.
The record has been made possible through the concerted efforts of Team HSM-2, under the consistent guidance of Alok Verma, DIC, Mr. Biswaranjan Palai, ED (Works) and Subrat Kumar, CGM (HSMs & Auxiliaries) with able support from Steel Melting Shop-II, Production Planning & Control, Roll Shop, Traffic & Raw Materials ,Instrumentation & Automation, R & C Lab, Crane Maintenance, Mechanical Shop, Design, Power Distribution, Computer & Information Technology, Central Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Groups, Energy Management Department, Civil Engineering Services, Contract Cell Works, Materials Management, Field Machinery Maintenance, Refractories, Finance, Safety Engineering, Human Resources and Learning & Development Department.
