Rourkela, June 3
Hot Strip Mill-2 of SAIL, Rourkeal Steel Plant has for the first time has achieved 1 lakh Tons of Slab Rolling in a month in May 2022. The previous best was 71485 Tons recorded in March 2022.
It is worth mentioning here that, post pandemic, the Mill started from in October 2021 with rolling of a single coil of 16 Tons. Subsequently the ramp up process started with production figures touching 1151 Tons in November 2021, 9868 Tons in December 2021, 31213 Tons in January 2022, 48597 Tons in February 2022, 71485 Tons in March 2022 and 47315 Tons in April 2022.
It’s worth mentioning that, the cumulative HR coil production from the Unit has crossed 3 Lakh Tons (300568 Tons to be precise) on 31/05/22, where as the total HR Coil despatch has been 2,59,076 Tons till 31st May 2022.
