The Hot Strip Mill–2 (HSM-2) of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has set a new record 10th October, 2025 by registering its highest-ever daily production in terms of slab and coil weight.
The unit rolled 9733 tonnes of slab weight to produce 403 coils weighing 9524 tonnes of coils to set the new benchmark, surpassing the previous best rolling of 9671 tons of slabs and production of 9450 tonnes of coils achieved on 10th September, 2025.
Tarun Misra, ED (HR), Biswaranjan Palai, ED (Works), and Anil Kumar, ED (MM) visited the department on Monday and congratulated the HSM-II collective for their sustained efforts. Present on the occasion were many CGMs and senior officers of the plant. Subrat Kumar, CGM (HSM & Auxiliaries) thanked the management and associated departments for their support.
The achievement was made possible through seamless coordination and dedicated efforts of the HSM-2 collective along with the support of several key departments including PPC, Roll Shop, C&IT, Instrumentation & Automation, Centralised Electrical, Centralised Mechanical, Refractories, Design, Traffic & Raw Materials, SMS, Power Distribution, RCL, Materials Management and other associated agencies.
