Human Rights panel DG on Telangana visit

Hyderabad, November 23

Santosh Mehra, Indian Police Service (IPS) official, working as Director General (Investigation), National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), New Delhi visited Telangana State Human Rights Commission during his visit to Hyderabad.

He observed the cases adjudication procedure, particularly court proceedings. He also watched the court halls and all sections of the commission and, at last, stated that the Telangana state human rights commission is the only commission in the country that is following the court procedure by directly hearing the parties and adjudicating the matters.

The DG stated that he would place his observations before the Chairperson of NHRC and would recommend that such public hearing system is suggested in all the human rights commission. 

Chairperson Justice G Chandraiah, Member (Judicial) N Ananda Rao and Member (Non-Judicial) model Irfan Moinuddin along with commission officials including Secretary Vidhyadhar Bhat, Assistant Registrar Sahabuddin, Public Relations officer P Srinivas Rao, Administrative Officer Venkateswar Rao and DSP Sathaiah felicitated the guest.
