IAS Probationers see steel production in Bhilai

Raipur, December 16

A group of 14 IAS (Indian Administrative Service) Probationers on Thursday visited Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), the flagship arm of state-run Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), and acquainted with the steel making process.

They witnessed an overview presentation of the Plant at Ispat Bhavan. S K Issar, ED (M & HS), Rakesh, ED (MM), S K Dubey, ED (P & A), Anjani Kumar, ED (Works), D N Karan, CGM (F&A), Manoj Dubey, GM (BE) and senior officers of the Plant were present on the occasion.

The probationers witnessed steel making operations in Bhilai’s Modex units, Blast Furnace 8 and Steel Melting Shop 3, followed by a visit to Modex Unit, Universal Rail Mill in Bhilai, where the world’s longest rails are rolled out. At the outset, they visited Safety Excellence Centre for a briefing on Safety.
