The 29th Foundation Day of Indian Institute of Coal Management (IICM) was celebrated on Thursday at the campus auditorium, Kanke, Ranchi.
IICM is the Apex training Institute of Coal India Limited (CIL) fulfilling the training requirement of not only of Coal India Executives ,But executives of Coal Sector as a whole.
Vinay Ranjan, Director (P&IR) CIL inaugurated the renovated auditorium of IICM in the gracious presence of Dr. Kamakshi Raman, ED, IICM, other dignitaries, IICM faculties and guests.
On the Occasion, Dr. Kamakshi Raman, ED, IICM welcomed the Chief Guest Pramod Agrawal, Chairman, Coal India Ltd. Guest of Honour Vinay Ranjan, Director (P&IR) CIL and other dignitaries. She briefed about the achievement of IICM and future plans. She also extended her gratitude towards all those who have contributed and played important role during the journey of IICM since inception.
Chief Guest Pramod Agrawal congratulated the Team IICM for its achievements and said that IICM had played crucial role in the overall development of all executives of the CIL by grooming their personality and prepare them for the challenging assignment by imparting proper training.
He further said that with the changing times, IICM has also been adapting and aligning its Role and Responsibility to cater to the changing training requirements as well as expectations of subsidiaries. In the changing scenario, where big private players are entering into coal mining and when CIL is moving fast on the path of business diversification aggressively, the expectations from IICM would be even more and IICM had to play a crucial role, he added.
The CIL Chairman said IICM should take up this challenge as an opportunity for redesigning its deliverables by visualising, planning and offering employee engagement initiatives beyond training programs for the executives of not only just CIL, but also for related sectors and explore possibilities of collaboration with national and International Institutes, universities in energy sector as a whole.
At the occasion, Vinay Ranjan said that IICM should take on the future challenges, and reposition itself as the most sought after training and leadership institute in the energy sector in the country. He assured that CIL was committed to give full support to IICM for improvising its physical and digital infrastructure, maintenance and upkeep of its beautiful and aesthetic campus.
Ranjan said he had a firm belief that TEAM IICM would accept the challenge and gear up to convert this challenge into opportunity and raise the flag high following its glorious Past.
The other dignitaries present on the occasion included Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) CMD P M Prasad, CMPDIL CMD Manoj Kumar, Former CMD MCL A N Sahay, Director XISS J M Kujur, Member, Dean Academics ,XISS Dr. A E Tigga, Directors of CCL and CMPDIL and others.
A cultural program was also organised on the occasion.
