IIIT-NR prof gets SIRE fellowship

The Department of Science and Technology (DST) of Government of India has accepted the SERB International Research Experience (SIRE) Fellowship proposal submitted by Dr. Kuldip Singh Patel, working as Assistant Professor (Mathematics) with International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Naya Raipur.

Under this fellowship, Dr. Kuldip will visit the University of Mauritius to work on financial market problems, specifically “High-Order Compact Schemes for Pricing Interest Rate Derivatives.” The researcher will collaborate with Prof. Muddun Bhuruth, Department of Mathematics, University of Mauritius. 

The fellowship duration is four months, from June 2022-September 2022. These fellowships broaden the vision for future research collaboration and establish new research possibilities. It will also open various research/intern/post-doctoral opportunities to the B. Tech./M. Tech. students and research scholars of IIIT-NR. 

It is a prestigious fellowship by the government of India, which will significantly increase the visibility of IIIT-NR in India and abroad, said Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sinha, Director, IIIT-NR. Dr. Sinha also added that the main focus of IIIT-NR in the coming years would be on research, and such international collaborations will strengthen the foundation for multi-national collaborative research in Chhattisgarh.
