The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur has been designated as the Nodal Institute for the fifth phase of the Yuva Sangam (2024) under the Government of India’s ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative.
This initiative will create a platform for transformative cultural and educational exchange between the youth, aiming to foster stronger connections and deepen understanding between these culturally diverse states.
Scheduled to take place in November and December 2024, the program will provide selected students with immersive experiences across five core domains – Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development), Paraspar Sampark (People-to-People Connect), and Prodyogiky (Technology). Through these hands-on experiences, the initiative seeks to promote meaningful connections, cultivating a sense of national unity and shared values among the youth of different regions.
IIM Raipur, in collaboration with Assam University, Silchar, will facilitate the no-cost five to seven days exchange program open to undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as youth involved in NCC, NSS, sports, arts, and culture, who are between the ages of 18 and 30, that will allow students from Assam to explore Chhattisgarh’s vibrant cultural landscape and technological advancements and vice versa. The travel expenses will be borne by IIM Raipur and all accommodation and local expenses for the delegates
will be covered by the host institution, Assam University, Silchar.
Speaking about the significance of this initiative, the nodal official, Professor Ashapurna Baruah of IIM Raipur stated, “IIM Raipur is delighted to steer the Phase V of Yuva Sangam (2024) under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative, facilitating a cultural and educational exchange between the youth of Chhattisgarh and Assam. This edition will offer students immersive experiences in tourism, traditions, development, and technology, contributing to meaningful people-to-people connect.”
