Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur will be hosting the 13th Annual Convocation Ceremony on Wednesday.
It is a proud and joyous occasion for the institute as young business management graduates are ready to embark on their journey, equipped with the values instilled by the institution. This ceremony marks a significant milestone in the academic journey of the graduating students, symbolizing their dedication, hard work, and achievements.
The ceremony will be graced by the Chief Guest, G V Prasad, Co-Chairman and Managing Director, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories who will deliver the Convocation Address. Puneet Dalmia, Chairperson, Board of Governors, will deliver the Welcome Address, and Prof. Ram Kumar Kakani, Director, IIM Raipur, will present the institute’s achievements in the Director’s Report.
IIM Raipur, in its fourteenth years of existence, has emerged as a leading business school in the country, with NIRF ranking 11. Committed to providing a global perspective to its programs, the institute has collaborated with various institutions worldwide for its International Student Exchange Program. This year, 10 students have been recommended for grants based on merit and means, with 25 students selected for the International Student Exchange program with partner institutions in Greece, France, Germany, Austria, and Korea.
The Indian Institute of Management Raipur held its 7th HR Summit with the theme “Optimizing Human Resource Potential in Hybrid Techade” with top notch HR professionals across different industries. With the theme “Enhancing Identity for Indian Business and Leadership”, the 7th Leadership Summit provided an excellent opportunity for industry experts and students to interact and discuss key ideas. This interaction aimed to equip future management professionals with the necessary skills to address upcoming challenges efficiently.
IIM Raipur partnered with Digital Health Academy New Delhi and introduced a Post Graduate Certificate Program in Digital Health. This program is designed by esteemed medical professionals, including Dr. Devi Shetty, in collaboration with IIM Raipur faculty. The course aims at medical professionals and has garnered interest across India, the United States, and Singapore. The program seeks to thoroughly understand digital health and its ability to revolutionize the healthcare industry. Two batches have been completed since the commencement of the programme.
The Institute also launched a six-month Certificate course for 30 Indian Navy officers on Global supply Chain Management in collaboration with Directorate General Resettlement (DGR), New Delhi. IIM Raipur has strengthened its research initiatives with its in-house research Case House of IIM Raipur (CHIRP). The Case Consultant and Case Editor have been operational since December 2022.
The institute’s faculty has achieved a significant publication record in the last year, with 83 national and international publications of repute. Several clubs are available at the institution to cultivate a lively campus environment. These clubs cater to various interests and provide students with a platform for extracurricular activities. The Arthniti Club focuses on economic and public policy issues, while the Igniters Club specializes in case studies and competitions. The Entrepreneurship Club promotes innovative thinking and business acumen among students, and the Product Management Club emphasizes product development skills. There is the Yuva Tourism Club for those interested in tourism, and for animal welfare enthusiasts, there is the Jeevashray Club. Overall, these clubs offer students an opportunity to develop new skills and engage in activities outside of the classroom.
The SAKSHAM committee conscientiously coordinated various government initiatives and own initiatives this year by arranging various activities to enhance well-being, altruism, and social responsibility among students and the other IIM Raipur community members. These included, talks, charitable activities, staff dedication recognition function, blood donation programs, items donation program, visit to an old age home, and Gurudwara Langar Sewa.
These endeavors underscore IIM Raipur’s dedication to delivering top-notch education while staying abreast of industry demands. By introducing innovative programs and forging partnerships with esteemed institutions, the institute aims to facilitate students in reaching their academic and career aspirations. Over the past thirteen years, IIM Raipur has made significant strides in academia and remains committed to excellence in education, preparing students for the challenges of tomorrow.
In addition to academic excellence, IIM Raipur has been actively engaged in hosting significant events and conferences including, the Sixth International Conference on Development and Governance in the BRICS along with partners: Central Warehousing Corporation and Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances in March 2024. The institute also hosted the International Conference on Regenerative Ecosystems 2023 (ICRE’23) in December 2023 along with partners: NABARD and Chhattisgarh Minor Forest Department.
