After successfully conducting prelims in eleven major cities, Spring Fest— the annual social and cultural fest of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur—had cleared the decks to conduct eliminations for dance, drama, music, fashion and literary events in another six cities across the country.
The students and cultural academies from Patna, Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, Ranchi, Guwahati and Raipur could register in the website nwp.springfest.in to participate for the eliminations, according to the organisers. Springfest will also conduct their Wildfire- nationwide rock band competition even in six major cities, namely Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Jaipur, Kolkata, Guwahati with a prize money worth Rs 1.5 lakh.

With the online reach of over 2 lakhs, Spring Fest is one of the largest fests of its kind in Asia to be organized entirely by students. Enthusiastic participants from almost 850 major colleges of India throng Kharagpur for the 3-day celebration of fun and frolic. Spring Fest 2022 was the 63rd edition of the fest and took place on March 11 to 13, 2022.
This year, Spring Fest has scheduled Hitch Hike, the Nationwide Prelims for its Dance, Drama,Music, Fashion and Literary events in eleven cities across India, namely Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Bhopal, Lucknow, Jaipur and Chandigarh. With the budding enthusiasm of the participants and the Organizing team, and the palpable excitement in the air, this edition of Spring Fest was probably grander than ever.
Spring Fest conducts a multitude of events encompassing 12 genres and more than 130 events are contested among the best in India with a total cash prize worth around Rs 35 lakh. As always, a boatload of new events are here to tickle your senses and bring out the hidden talent in you. These events aim to provide a battlefield for the best of the best and also to have the participants experience the time of their lives. Our last year’s social initiative – Sankalp: Give Green A Chance, an initiative on behalf of all who wish to contribute towards the healthy environment and tackling social, economic and environmental problems faced by the communities through its project and initiatives.
Star-nights have always been an integral part of the Spring Fest charm. Artists like Shaan, Vishal Shekhar, Farhan Akhtar, Amit Trivedi, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Salim-Sulaiman, KK, Prateek Kuhad, The Raghu Dixit Project, Agnee, Indian Ocean, Swarathma, Parikrama, Euphoria, Pentagram, The Local Train, and many more monumental performances have happened at Spring Fest in the past years. International bands like Dead by April, Monuments, Tesseract have rocked the audience at Spring Fest.
