Abu Dhabi, November 3

After back-to-back humiliating defeats, team India will take on Afghanistan at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi today evening to face a tough challenge from its spinners.

As India prepared for the game, during Tuesday evening session Team India skipper Virat Kohli, head coach Ravi Shastri and mentor M S Dhoni had an intense discussion for almost 20-30 mins. While Shastri left, Kohli and Dhoni continued it for a short session. M S Dhoni also had a separate chat with Ravi Shastri.

The trio is learnt to have discussed the strategy at length as today’s match is a must win game for India to keep the hope alive for the next round i.e. semi-finals.

Suryakumar Yadav is set to return as Virat Kohli had a long chat with the Mumbai batsman who returned to practice after sitting out of the last match with a back spasm. By the looks of it, Suryakumar Yadav is likely to get a go in India’s middle-order while it’s a toss-up between Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan.

India has received a big setback at the onset as in the first match against Pakistan, they lost by 10 wickets while in the second match against New Zealand they lost by 8 wickets.

According to experts, going by the recent performance of India both in batting and bowling department, playing Afghanistan spinners will be a tough challenge for them as these spinners have proved themselves in the recent matches. So, India needs to play cautiously against Afghanistan. The spinners like Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi and Mujeeb Ur Rahman are capable of turning the match. Afghanistan is in second place with 4 points from 3 matches.
