Raipur, November 14

The Nagpur-Kolkata Indigo flight made an emergency landing in Swami Vivekanand Airport at Raipur in Chhattisgarh following a bomb threat on Thursday morning.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Raipur, Santosh Kumar Singh said the flight 6E 812 was flying from Nagpur to Kolkata. Besides 187 passengers, sex crew members were on board.

“After receiving the bomb threat, the flight was diverted to Raipur and made the emergency landing,” Singh said. Following the airport procedure, the aircraft is being frisked by the team of Central Industrial Security Force and Raipur Police, he added.

The incident is one in the series of bomb threats that had rocked the Indian sky space for the last one month.

Ironically, A 17-year-old boy from Chhattisgarh was detained by Mumbai Police in connection with bomb hoax threats posted on social media targeting three flights last month. He hailed from Rajnandgaon city.
