Tata Steel, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM), will be hosting an International Conference on Green & Sustainable Ironmaking on January 17-18, 2024, in Jamshedpur.
The event aims to address crucial themes related to decarbonization strategies within blast furnace operations, waste utilization, and advancements in ironmaking technologies.
The conference will gather professionals in the field of Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) and blast furnace technology along with technology suppliers, designers, researchers, technologists, academicians, students, technical consultants, and advocates for environmental sustainability. The event will provide a platform for interaction with acclaimed industry experts, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration.
Key themes to be explored during the conference include decarbonization strategies within blast furnace operations, effective utilization of process waste and lower grade raw materials, advancements in Gas-based Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) and Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) technologies, as well as carbon capture and utilization methodologies.
The conference will also delve into future outlooks for iron making, innovative approaches for carbon abatement in coal-based DRI/HBI processes, advancements in iron making process optimization and control, exploring alternatives to fossil fuels, and integrating digital interventions into iron making methodologies.
