A jawan of Chhattisgarh police committed suicide by shooting self in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district Thursday morning.
The jawan has been identified as Arun Uikey. He was posted in Kohkameta police station as head constable.
Sources said he shot himself with the service rifle inside the barrack at around 10.30 am today. The bullet pierced through his chin and he collapsed on the spot itself.
The jawan was rushed to the district hospital. The doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. The body would be handed over to the relatives after post-mortem.
The exact cause behind what led the jawan to take extreme steps could not be ascertained. The district police would conduct the investigation to determine the reason.
