The Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) of the OP Jindal Global University has broken into the Top 100 Law Schools of the World in the QS World University QS World University Rankings by Subject 2021.
JGLS has become the only Indian Law School to feature in the list, where it has been ranked Number 1 in India and 76th in the world. The university, set up by the JSPL foundation headed by Shalu Jindal, is also ranked Number 1 in South Asia and 8th in the entire BRICS region.
To produce the rankings for this year, QS analysed close to 14 million unique scholarly papers, producing more than 80 million citations. 1453 institutions were ranked across 51 subjects in 5 broad subject areas (including social sciences which includes law), creating over 16,981 published entries.
After assessing 976 Law Schools from across the world, JGLS was ranked 76th globally, whereas the Top 5 positions are held by Harvard University (1st rank in the world), followed by the University of Oxford (2nd rank); University of Cambridge (3rd rank); Yale University (4th rank); and Stanford University (5th rank).
QS considered 177 institutions across 51 subjects from India. Last year, JGLS was ranked in the 100-150 category in the QS World University Rankings 2020 by Subject Area Law.
