Jindal Steel Chhattisgarh Limited, an arm of leading Indian conglomerate Jindal Steel and Power, on Tuesday signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with the Chhattisgarh government for multiple projects aimed to accelerate industrial development in the state.
The projects include 500 MW Solar Power Plant, the 2400 MW Thermal Power Plant, and a steel plant with a capacity of 7.5 million tons per annum (MTPA). A proposed investment of Rs 75,000 crore will be allocated for the projects.
The MoU signing in ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Rajat Kumar, Secretary and Coordinator of the State Investment Promotion Board, Commerce and Industry Department, along with several officials from the industrial sector. The projects are expected to aid in the creation of local employment and strengthen the state’s economy.
Pradeep Tandon of Jindal Group stated that they are committed to promoting industrial infrastructure in Chhattisgarh. He expressed confidence that the steel plant would produce high-quality steel and create new development opportunities for the local community.
The government has also acknowledged the development as a significant step towards industrial growth in the state. Such industrial investments will help realize the goal of making Chhattisgarh a global industrial hub.
The establishment of this steel plant and power plants is set to begin soon and is viewed as a crucial initiative for the development of the state and for improving the living standards of local residents.
