Raipur, August 9
The trade unions came under an umbrella and staged a day-long dharna in the state capital of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday in protest against the alleged anti-people and anti-labour policies of the central government.
Shirish Nalgundwar of the Chhattisgarh Bank Employees Association informed that the bank employees also joined the strike and enrolled their presence in the dharna. The trade union leaders said more than 25 crore working people of the trade unions across the country are agitating against the anti-people and anti-labour policies of the Central Government.
A nationwide general strike is proposed at the end of the calendar year in protest. The dharna organised today was part of the programme, the leaders said, adding that despite being a working day, a good number of office bearers from the bank employees’ association joined the dharna.
Besides Raipur, the representatives of the trade unions participated in the strike organised in different parts of the state.
