Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL), a diversified Jindal Group conglomerate headed by Naveen Jindal, had started a special COVID-19 hospital in Raigarh where the company has a major steel facility.
The hospital has 40 oxygen beds besides equal number of normal beds. The health infrastructure was necessitated in view of the deteriorating conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Hospital was inaugurated by District Magistrate of the Raigarh Bhim Singh in presence of Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Ashutosh Pandey, CMHO Dr. SN Kesari, COO (Chhattisgarh) of JSPL Dinesh Kumar Saraogi, and CHRO Pankaj Lochan.
In his address, Bhim Singh appreciated Fortis-OP Jindal Hospital for the best care of patients with the state of art equipment facilities. The COVID Hospital has been developed at the New Engineering Hostel, Tower-7 with almost all the essential and critical facilities including 40 Oxygen beds.
“With the warning of the third wave, we are preparing best to face the challenges,” the District Collector said, adding that the COVID Hospital at JSPL would be an advantage to safeguard the lives of the people. Raigarh district is continuously developing infrastructure to fight against Corona.
There were only 25 Oxygen beds at Raigarh Medical college last year but now it had been equipped with 250 Oxygen beds. “We have a plan to add 100 more beds. There are 350 Oxygen beds at KIT therefore a total of 900 Oxygen and 150 ICU beds are available in the district now. Very soon we shall have 50 new ventilators in our hospitals,” Singh said.
He thanked JSPL and Chairman Naveen Jindal for the smooth supply of Oxygen to the district hospitals. He also appreciated the efforts of JSPL in sending Oxygen tankers all over the nation to save lives.
There were words of appreciation for JSPL by other officers also on COVID treatment facilities, distribution of ration to poor families and much more other community works.
D K Saraogi expressed commitment on behalf of the JSPL to support the efforts by the district administration to contain COVID-19. He said that Naveen Jindal, the Chairman of the Company believes in the “theory of nation first” so JSPL is working overtime to reach every hospital with Oxygen nationwide to save lives.
The COO of the Fortis-OP Jindal Hospital Major (Retd.), Rajeshwar Bhati briefed that all the emergency services are available in the COVID treatment center. Now the hospital has 378 beds of which only 30 have been reserved for general patients. Rest, 348 beds are for COVID patients. Now, they have 10 ICU and 116 Oxygen beds to treat patients better.
