Naveen Jindal-led India’s leading Infrastructure conglomerate in the steel, mining and power sector, Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) has created a new record with highest single day production since inception.
The JSPL produced more than 11,000 tonnes in a single day at its Raigarh facility. This is the highest one-day production since the plant’s inception.
The company’s COO (Chhattisgarh) Dinesh Kumar Saraogi awarded the citation, congratulating the entire team of Steel Melting Shop (SMS) for the feat.
The team of JSPL-Raigarh has once again achieved significant achievement, the company said in a statement. The plant’s steel melting shop set a record on 8 December 2020, with 110 heats on a single day, producing 11,089 tonnes of steel. This is the highest ever production in a single day since the establishment of this plant.
Saraogi congratulated the entire team on behalf of Navin Jindal and the management on the glorious achievement. He said the Raigarh plant was fully ready to produce 3.6 million tonnes of steel. He inspired the team for similar performance in future likewise, by working hard and dedication and with full commitment.
Earlier, the highest single day production was 10904 tonnes with 109 heats achieved on 20 November 2020. In October 2020, the unit achieved the highest production level of any month by producing 286267 tonnes. DRI, hot metal and scrap are being used for steel production by SMS.
With one new record after another, the JSPL-Raigarh plant is now moving fast towards achieving the annual production target of 3.6 million tonnes.
