Senior Judge of Allahabad High Court at Lucknow Justice Ramesh Sinha on Wednesday took oath as the Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court.

Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan administered the oath of office and secrecy to Justice Ramesh Sinha at a function held in the Raj Bhawan Wednesday evening. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, his ministerial colleagues, former Chief Minister Raman Singh and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

The Union Ministry of Law and Justice on Friday notified the appointments of three Chief Justices of Allahabad, Chhattisgarh and Patna High Court.

Graduated in Law from Allahabad University in 1990, Justice Ramesh Sinha was enrolled as an advocate on September 08, 1990. He practised in civil and criminal side at Allahabad High Court. He was elevated as Additional Judge on November 21, 2011 and took oath as Permanent Judge on August 06, 2013.

The Supreme Court Collegium on February 9 recommended the appointment of Justice Ramesh Sinha as Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court following the retirement of Justice Arup Kumar Goswami on March 10, 2023.

Senior most Judge of Chhattisgarh High Court Justice Gautam Bhaduri was bestowed the responsibility of executing the work of the office of Chief Justice.
