Hindu organisations on Thursday organised a demonstration against religious conversions in Jharkhand.
The saffron clad activists , who included many women demonstrated at Plaza Circle of Jharkhand capital and demanded immediate arrest of Tanvir Khan alias Yash who had forced an upcoming model, Manvi Raj Singh to change her religion. This is the third incident of Love Jihad at Ranchi in one year.
BJP spokesman, Pratul Shahdev, regretted Muslim fundamentalists were forcing Hindu girls to change their religion.
Manvi Singh’s mother Rinku and father Rajiv Singh on Thursday alleged Tanvir Khan was threatening them too . They presented recorded threat calls of Tanvir made to them at their Bhagalpur residence. They demanded police security for themselves and their daughter who is in Mumbai. They alleged due to blackmailing by Tanvir, Manavi had even attempted suicide in September last year and tried to jump down from sixth floor building, but was saved by the neighbours.
Manvi who filed one more FIR against Tanvir in Mumbai today claimed she could get courage to speak against Tanvir after viewing Kerala Story film. She had joined the grooming institute at Ranchi which was presented to be owned by Yash. However, once she found the Aadhar card of the owner which proved her apprehension that Tanvir Khan was the real owner.
Versova police station in Mumbai transferred the case to Ranchi police today, Senior SP Kaushal Kishore said. FIR has been registered at Gonda police station of Ranchi town. A team of Ranchi police has been sent to Mumbai to record the statement of the model.
Police have started searching for Tanvir through technical surveillance and his mobile location. Till yesterday, it was found at Bhagalpur and on Thursday morning it was traced to Gaya town.
