The nearest kin of the person killed by the Maoists would get a government job in Chhattisgarh.
The decision was taken in the district level committee for the rehabilitation of Maoist-affected families in the Bijapur district. In the first phase, 58 people have been identified as beneficiaries of the scheme started at the initiative of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.
A state government spokesperson said that the government job would be given under the rehabilitation policy of the Chhattisgarh government. On the initiative of the Chief Minister, all sections of the society in the state are being benefited by quick implementation of welfare schemes for their development, the spokesperson added.
In the meeting of Bijapur District Level Rehabilitation Committee held today, it was decided to give compassionate appointments to 58 people of Maoist-affected families. Superintendent of Police Dr Jitendra Yadav said that a total of 58 eligible applicants for compassionate appointment will be given government job in the first phase.
Earlier, the district level review meeting examined the cases received from the Superintendent of Police office before inviting objections till July 19. The date was however extended and fixed for July 24, 2024.
The spokesperson said after resolving the claims and objections received and acting on the decision of the committee, finally 58 applicants were found eligible. They will be appointed in Class IV posts in different state government departments.
