Labour court stays stir against BALCO

The Labour Court of Korba has issued a stay order against the strike resorted under the banner of BALCO Karmachari Sangh in the aluminium major.

The employees under the banner of the Sangh affiliated to Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh are staging a protest in front of the company’s main gate in Parsabhata from April 13. BALCO had filed an application in the Labour Court against the strike. The Court registered a case no. 05/CGIR/2022. After the hearing conducted today, the Court ordered that the ongoing strike should be stopped before the next hearing posted for April 22, 2022.

In the ex-parte stay order, the Labor Court said the strike in the applicant institution would affect the industrial, security and peace and order besides aluminum production, manufacturing and power generation. A copy of the order of the Court has been made available to the BALCO Employees Union.

BALCO Management had urged the Union to ensure compliance of the order of the Court. The company has made it clear that the management has taken a slew of measures for the welfare of the workers and subsequently launched many schemes formulated through mutual consultation.

The BALCO management has appealed to the workers to stay away from any provocation. It has urged the workers to report at the workplaces and ensure contribution in the smooth operation of the plant.

Together, through industrial peace and harmony, the citizens of the Balco family can contribute to the progress of the country.
