Madhya Pradesh government has announced an aid of Rs 5 crore for relief works in the flood-ravaged region of Chhattisgarh.

The incessant rains had inflicted a devastating impact in the Bastar region. While a major part of the region was inundated, a major number of people were affected by Nature’s fury. Chhattisgarh’s parent state Madhya Pradesh has come forward to provide relief.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said: “Due to excessive rainfall, floods in many parts of Chhattisgarh have caused loss of life and property. Being a neighboring state, it is our responsibility to provide all possible help.” Subsequently, an amount of Rs 5 crore and necessary relief material is being sent by the Madhya Pradesh government, Yadav said.

In this hour of disaster, Madhya Pradesh stands firmly with Chhattisgarh and will provide all possible support if needed, the Chief Minister added.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai thanked his Madhya Pradesh counterpart. “Thank you very much Mohan Yadav for this kindness of yours,” Sai said.

Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are not only neighbouring states but also has a family bonding. “Your support in this hour of disaster will definitely provide strength to our affected people of Bastar division. Thanks again,” Sai added.
