Madhya Pradesh government today launched the “Mukhyamantri Jan Awas Yojana”, an ambitious scheme to provide roof for the people living in deprivation.
After unfurling the National Tricolour at Motilal Nehru Stadium on the occasion of 76th Independence Day, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan while addressing the state said it was the resolve of the state government that no family on the soil of the state would remain without land and without a house, no poor will be deprived of medical treatment, no meritorious student would be deprived of education due to lack of funds.
Chouhan announced to implement ‘Mukhya Mantri Jan Awas’ scheme to provide housing to the homeless. No one will remain homeless in the state, he said, adding that under the Mukhya Mantri Bhu-Adhikar Yojana, every person will be provided a piece of land for housing. Where necessary, housing will be provided to the poor by constructing high rise buildings. ‘Suraaj Colonies’ will be developed for the poor on about 21 thousand acres of land that has been freed from the mafia.
A special campaign will be launched in the state in the coming months of September-October so that no eligible person should be deprived of the poor welfare schemes run under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The PESA Act will be implemented in the state by September 18, 2022. The Chief Minister said that in this year of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, activities would be conducted for a week to celebrate the foundation day of Madhya Pradesh on November 1 with joy and happiness.
Chouhan appealed to the people of the state to work together with the government in these areas. He said that it is the duty of every resident of the state to save daughters, create a drug-free society, save energy, save water, plant trees and actively participate in cleanliness. He inspired the people of the state to perform these civic duties.
The Chief Minister congratulated team Madhya Pradesh for successfully facing the crisis caused by the damage to the dam of Karam Medium Irrigation Project in Dhar district. He said the Team Madhya Pradesh consists of ministers, officers, public representatives and the people of the state. The way the crisis on the dam was handled with the cooperation of the public was a classic example of disaster management. Chouhan, while felicitating the drivers who made way for the dam water with Pocklain machine in the dam, announced to provide Rs 2 lakh to each driver as Samman Nidhi.
Chouhan said that in order to provide employment to the youths of the state, recruitment will be done on one lakh government posts in a year. Employment Day will be organised every month, in which loan assistance will be provided for self-employment in various schemes to connect 2 lakh youths with self-employment. He said that a new start-up policy has been implemented in the state. Some startups of the state have made remarkable achievements. A start-up from the state has joined the prestigious Unicorn category. Special efforts are being made to attract investment in the state.
Asserting that enhancing the income of farmers is the priority of the state government, Chouhan said the scheme has been implemented for diversification of agriculture to promote production of profitable crops in place of traditional crops. Farmers are being encouraged to adopt natural farming. The farmers will be exempted from interest by the state government.
