Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that results of progress, development and public welfare would come only through the coordinated efforts.

Addressing the Collectors-Commissioner conference here on Tuesday, Chouhan said, “This is our mutual luck that we have got such an important responsibility, through which we can change the lives of the people. We have to work for the betterment of the people of the state without wasting a moment. Each one of us has to be continuously active for the development of the state and public welfare with all our energy, ability and thoughtfulness with the feeling of giving our best, yearning and pain.”

The conference took place offline after almost three years. Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, all commissioners and collectors of major departments including Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains were present in the conference held at Mantralaya.

In other districts of the state also, collectors are innovating at their own level.

Officers generally work as District Collectors for a period of 6 to 8 years in their career. “Work in mission mode during this period with full diligence, enthusiasm, ability to face obstacles and vision in such a way that this period gives you lifetime satisfaction and your tenure is remembered positively,” Chouhan exhorted.

Chouhan said that state was moving towards continuous development. The growth rate of the state, the contribution of the state in Capita Income and GSDP has increased continuously. A positive image of the state has been created in the country and the world. The collector-commissioner is the representative of the government in the district and divisions. “Your performance will reflect on the image of governance. In a democracy, our aim is the welfare of the people and to give them a better life,” he said.

The Chief Minister reviewed the ongoing preparations for the Vikas Yatras starting from February 5 in the state. It was informed that the Vikas Yatras will be undertaken constituency-wise.
