Suspected Maoists have reportedly abducted five villagers in the Konta block of Chhattisgarh’s restive Sukma district.

The rebels have however not yet claimed that they had taken five people hostages. But there was no information about the missing villagers. The statement issued by the Sarva Adivasi Samaj however endorsed that the Maoists had abducted the villagers for the reason yet to be asserted.
The Sarva Adivasi Samaj has appealed the Maoists to release the villagers without harming them.
