Jagdalpur, January 2

Maoist cadre brutally killed a villager suffering from mentally illness in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district.

The villager has been identified as Hemant Bandi, a resident of Timmapur under Basaguda police station in restive Dantewada district. The rebels indicted that he was police informer and executed him.

Dantewada Superintendent of Police Kamalochan Kashyap informed that the four to five Jan Militia, the supporters and local cadre of outlawed Communist Party of India (Maoist), reached the house of Bandi and pulled him out. They attacked him with sharp weapon and killed him on the spot.

The Maoist cadre did not bother to cross-check the ailment of the person they targeted. Since the villager was mentally ill, he was moving around the area that made the Maoists to suspect him a police informer and eliminate.
