Maoists killed two villagers in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district for allegedly working as police informers in the villages.

According to reports, the two villagers were identified as Raju Modiyam resident of Peddakorma and Dula Kodme resident of Pusnar in Bijapur district. The rebels organised a kangaroo court in Peddakorma and “awarded” death sentence for allegedly working for the police as its informers.

Both the villagers were brutally done to death in full glare to create a reign of terror among the villagers, sources said

Bijapur Superintendent of Police Anjneya Varshney said the police had received the information in this connection that is being verified. However, the relatives of the victims have not approached the police so far to file a complaint, he added.
