In a major reshuffle in police administration, Bihar government on Saturday posted new SPs in 23 districts.
Home department issued a notification affecting transfers and postings of 45 IPS officers-from DG level to SP ranks.
Alok Raj, 1989 batch IPS who was superseded y R S Bhatti as DG of police has been appointed DG, Vigilance Bureau while Ms Preeta Verma has been given the new assignment of DG Training.
SP of Saran Santosh Kumar has been transferred and sent to Special Task Force. In a hooch tragedy over 80 people had died in Saran this month. He has been replaced by Gaurav Mangla, SP of Nawada.
Officials said Buxar, Bhojpur, Arwal, Kaimur, Rohtas, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Nawada, Samastipur, Motihari, Muzaffarpur, Aurangabad are some of the districts where new SPs have been posted.
Manavjeet Dhillon who was promoted as DIG last week will continue to function as senior SP of Patna.
