Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), reaffirming its commitment to ensuring energy security, achieved coal dispatch of 210.75 Million tonne in FY’26, marking a historic high.
In a remarkable achievement, MCL also registered 99.4% coal production through eco-friendly surface miner in FY’26, with total coal production of 218.30 Million Tonnes. While achieving Overburden removal of 326.626 Million Cubic metre in the last Fiscal year.
MCL has 43.76 Million tonne of Coal available at the stock, ensuring adequate coal supply to the consumers.
MCL has registered growth in FMC performance with 34 rakes/day as compared to 17 rakes/day in the last fiscal, becoming the subsidiary with highest Rakes Loaded through FMC for the FY’26. The last financial year marked introduction of Automatic Truck Loading System (ATLS)-automation of coal loading into trucks using pre-weighing hopper, at Bhubaneswari OCP, Talcher Coalfields, which contributed to coal despatch of 9656 Tonnes against the target of 8000 Tonne.
FY’26 overall remained the year of achievements for the company, as it has set new milestone in CSR expenditure of Rs 341 crores for social and economic upliftment of society, particularly the remote and peripheral areas of its coalfields.
Uday A. Kaole, Chairman-cum-Managing Director has congratulated team MCL including all officers, staff, employees of contracted companies and other stakeholders for a successful year.
MCL is the largest coal producing company in the country, having its mining operations spread over Sundergarh, Jharsuguda and Angul districts of Odisha and remains committed to ensure energy security in the nation.
