Sambalpur, January 25
Hirakud International Half Marathon 2026 being organized by Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) in collaboration with Sambalpur District Administration will be held on 15th February 2026.
Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education officially announced the event at a special ceremony held at the company headquarters in Sambalpur. The official logo and t-shirt was also unveiled on this occasion.
The marathon will take place at the iconic Hirakud Dam-the largest earthen dam in Asia. Elite and amateur runners from the nation and across the globe are expected to participate in the marathon.
Suryabanshi Suraj, Minister of Higher Education, Sports and Youth services, Govt. of Odisha; IG- Northern Division; Collector, Sambalpur; SP, Sambalpur, other State Govt Officials, MCL officials and a large number of school students were present on this occasion
