Sambalpur, March 27
Mahanadi Coalfields limited (MCL), In a significant step towards strengthening educational infrastructure has inked an Mou with Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Sambalpur. MCL will fund Rs 44.54 crores, under its CSR initiative, for the development of 450-bedded girls’ hostel at the IIM institute campus.
The MoU was executed between Shri Jyotirmay Sinha, General Manager (CSR) MCL and Professor Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director, IIM Sambalpur.
This project includes construction of three G+5 hostel buildings, equipped with modern amenities such as lift facilities, solar water heating systems, CCTV surveillance system, fire safety systems and air conditioning systems, which will significantly enhance the residential facilities at IIM Sambalpur, creating greater opportunities for female students to pursue management education.
This initiative reflects MCL’s commitment to social development and empowerment through education. The collaboration is also aligned with the broader goal of increasing gender inclusivity in premier educational institutions in the state.
