In a significant step towards strengthening educational infrastructure and promoting holistic learning in rural Odisha, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) today signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the District Administration, Bargarh.
The projects worth Rs 80 lakh, to be undertaken by company as its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, aim to enhance the educational environment and promote inclusive growth in the Barpali Block of Bargarh district.
The MoUs were signed on Thursday between MCL’s General Manager (CSR) and Block Development Officer (BDO), Barpali, representing the District Administration.
Auditorium and Parking Facility for Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir
Under the first project, MCL will fund the construction of an auditorium hall and parking area at Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, Barpali, at a cost of Rs 59.75 lakh.
The new facilities are expected to create a conducive atmosphere for academic, cultural and co-curricular activities, thereby improving overall learning outcomes.
The project will also provide safe and organized parking for students, encourage regular attendance and promote participation of SC/ST/OBC students in school and community events.
Additional Classrooms at Government High School, Agalpur
The second project involves the construction of additional classrooms at Government High School, Agalpur, at a cost of Rs 20.78 lakh.
The initiative aims to reduce overcrowding in classrooms, improve the student–teacher ratio, and enhance the overall learning experience.
The additional space will enable the school to accommodate more students, facilitate special education needs and support interactive and activity-based learning.
