Medical college at Dantewada in Chhattisgarh to be built by DMF funds

The DMF Governing Council of Dantewada district has granted administrative approval of Rs 299.85 crore for the construction work of new Government Medical College building at Geedam.

The approval is a big step towards strengthening the regional health infrastructure. For the implementation of this important project, CGMSC (Chhattisgarh Medical Service Corporation) has been appointed as the working agency under the Department of Public Health, Family Welfare and Medical Education. CGMSC will ensure compliance of the tender process, work order and prescribed time limit under the provisions of the State Government and PWD Manual as per rules.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has given clear instructions that the benefits of every scheme of the government should reach the people of the state and all resources should be used giving top priority to public interest. In line with the people-centric thinking of the Chief Minister, now the use of DMF (District Mineral Foundation) funds has started in the public interest to ensure the availability of quality health facilities to the people.

The initiative under the leadership of the Chief Minister will not only provide high quality medical facilities to the people of Geedam and Dantewada region near their residence, but it will also give a new direction to the health care system of the entire Bastar region.

The decision is a symbol of the unwavering commitment of the people-centric government of Vishnu Deo Sai, which reflects the resolve to bring positive change in the life of every citizen of the state by giving equal importance to development, trust and transparency.
