American President and Republican candidate Donald Trump was seated in the front row with other dignitaries while Melania delivered a poignant counterpoint to her husband’s brash.
While offering sympathy to the victims of COVID-19, empathizing with Black Lives Matter protesters and resisting partisan rival-bashing, she came to the point urging Americans to stick with Donald Trump for four more years.
Addressing the Republican National Convention from a newly renovated Rose Garden, the first lady acknowledged the president’s unconventional, confrontational style in a speech designed to touch on many of the points that her husband has seemed utterly unable or unwilling to make himself.
She explained: “We all know Donald Trump makes no secrets about how he feels about things.” Total honesty is what citizens deserve from its president, she said, adding whether one likes it or not, but can always know what he’s thinking.
Unlike the last election campaign four years ago, Melania was full of confidence. In the last campaign, she was charged with plagiarism as a portion of her speech to the Republican National Convention appeared to have been pirated.
Interestingly, the source of the apparently stolen passages was none other than her rival and then the First Lady, Michelle Obama.
